What follows is the original statement by Rose City Antifa--the Portland, Oregon chapter of the Anti-Racist Action Network--about the anti-Semitic sources published by Turning the Tide. While RCA welcomes Turning the Tide's retraction, we also encourage readers to check out our statement, which contains additional detail and references, and also makes political points that are not addressed or are contradicted by the TTT retraction. For example, we criticize a line of argument from Kim Petersen that was printed in TTT, not only Petersen's connections. We also raised the issue of why anti-Semitic narratives crop up within Palestine solidarity circles, and why they appeared within Turning the Tide. We do not agree with the assessment that anti-Semitic forces are successfully barred from the BDS movement. RCA hopes that TTT's retraction and our supplement will open up an informed, nuanced conversation about how antifascists may approach Palestine solidarity.
